How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: I respond in a way that does not exceed the physical and mental capabilities of my character.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: When a person reflects a knowledge gained outside the game to the character, it may disrupt the role of other people and interrupt the story. This should not be done for this reason.
    Status: Accepted

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

((How do you respond?))

Entering the tent, Bartolomeus, after examining the old hag who signalled him to sit on the cushion, calmly looked at the cushion and said, "Thank you for this hospitable offer. But I do not have much of a story, I will not stay here for long". He looked at the old wrinkled face of the old hag for a while and when he saw that there was no response, he took a deep breath, clasped his hands on his waist and confidently walked forward to look out of any gap in the tent. "I used to live with my parents and grandfather in a small village not far from here. My grandfather had a small workshop and I used to spend all my time playing there. One day my grandfather took me aside and gave me a little speech, saying that when the time came I should go out into the world, that it was good that I was doing so many crafts and that I should turn it into a business. I started working for a blacksmith we knew in the same village. At first I didn't like him very much because he made me do errands. Most of the time I was shirking work and doing little mischief in the workshop. Over time I got used to it and started to learn the important part of the job. As I got older I completed many orders. And recently I met another blacksmith, Gabriel, who is almost my age. We are currently working on a joint order. I came here to talk to him and get my work done." After this short but explanatory speech, he stopped looking through the tent opening and turned his head to the wrinkled old face of the old hag.
