You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Raignald approached and sat down on the cushion, then crossed his legs and started lighting the pipe from his pocket, beginning his story. "One winter night, as bedtime approached around midnight, strange, unidentifiable sounds suddenly began coming from outside. My mother was taking me to my bed in the upper room, anxious and scared. My father was waiting downstairs. Just as I got into bed, I heard our lower door being broken. Out of fear, I quietly got out of bed and looked down from the corner of the stairs. I saw a huge green creature standing in front of my father, who was standing motionless. Then I saw my father collapse to the ground, and blood was everywhere. My mother started screaming and running towards the creature with a look of terror. Then, I saw a huge sword pierce her stomach from the front and come out from the back. Out of fear, I fainted on the stairs, and when I woke up in the morning, I was traveling in a wagon. When I woke up, scared and anxious, I asked the man in front of me about my mother and father. They told me that when they arrived, they found only two corpses on the ground and initially thought I was dead too. Then, when they realized I was unconscious, they took me into the wagon and left immediately. From then on, I lived my entire life as a nomad with my new family. I received training in combat and lessons about other races like orcs. As I grew, I got stronger. And now, here I am, in front of you."
