Southward Sailing

He yawned as he got off the little sailing vessel that'd been his home for the past month and a half. Henrik was tired after his expedition, which had taken much longer than he expected. What began as a curious little trip to the southern waters of Arcas, turned into a full-scale exploration journey. The young Haensitan male had taken with him a copy of the map that was given to the descendants by the Vaeyl in Atlas, and as it turned out, this map sucked. The peninsula of Arcas that he was hoping to land his ship at and then camp on for maybe a week, apparently didn't exist. Instead he got lost at sea as he went further and further south in search of the peninsula, thinking that perhaps the distance was incorrect.

This error eventually had him land his ship like he hoped. But not on the peninsula, instead he landed on the island south of Arcas, which made him all the more curious and led to him ending up exploring the majority of the southern waters, making a map of his findings and keeping a journal about some of the things he saw. Henrik was back home again, turning down the lantern in his room as he went to bed, t'was all done now, and sent off to the publisher.

Passage 1: Southern Island Amadoria
"It's been over three days now since I left Sutica. I think me and the other descendants might be given a wrong map, for the landmass I was hoping to find seems to be nothing more than water and coral reefs. I've now landed on the island south of Arcas, not sure what I will find here.
After I landed here yesterday, I set up a small camp and took a walk along the island, seems to be completely deserted, perhaps I am the first descendant to ever set foot on this land that can best be described as an exotic, tropical paradise. There's trees as tall as mountains here, full of cocoa fruits. The terrain seems quite mountainous, but they aren't that tall. Spotted a lake or two. Plan to leave again tomorrow and sail around the shores of this place.
It's about a week later now, I'm back at my old camping spot on the western peninsula of this land. I've mapped out the shores and generally done the interior. I plan to head west now and see if the rest of the Vaeyl's map is correct. Before I leave however, I have decided I will grant myself the creative liberty to name this land I've set foot on, due to lack of a name on the old map. Beautiful island, I dub thee: Amadoria.”

Passage 2: Coral Sea and Triplet islands
"I thought about heading  back to Sutica despite what I previously wrote, but along the way there, I spotted so many things below the surface of the water, that I couldn't keep my curiousity from getting the better of me. I've seen shipwrecks, stone structures in the water, sometimes fully submerged, sometimes reaching the surface. And so, so much coral. I'm going to continue my naming trend by naming this body of water the Coral Sea.”

"The three islands off the coast of Aegrothond seem to be correct the way they are on the old map, but I'm redrawing them on my own one regardless. They just have some rocks and trees on them and aren't that interesting in all honesty. Couldn't come up with a good name. Triplet Islands?”

Passage 3: Solitudinem
"Just south of the three islands is another big island which sadly doesn't really fit on my map. Not that it seems really interesting though, it's a big desert wasteland, with the only vegetation being some bushes and a tree or two on the shore. So far I haven't set foot on the island yet, I've still got enough supplies and it doesn't seem worth going on land.

Sailed around the southern cape of this dry land, been going along the coast of it for a few days now. Doesn't seem to get more interesting than what I previously described, so I'll probably take a short dip to the island south of here, before heading back towards Sutica. Solitudinem. It's the name I thought of last night, High Imperial for desert. All it is.”

Passage 4: Siru
"It's been two days since I last wrote. I was off the coast of Solitudinem then, right before setting sail to what I'm calling Siru. I expected it to be similar to Solitudinem, but I couldn't have been more wrong. This place is quite... otherworldly. The entire island is covered in fungi, primarily mycelium and giant mushrooms. I've seen five species of the mushrooms, all are about the same size, though shapes and colors differ. There doesn't seem to be any animals on the island, or at least I haven't seen any. I don't think I'm going to set foot on this land, I don't trust it to be good for my health.

It's three days later now and I've sailed all the way around Siru. I just noticed I didn't explain the name, it's Ancient Elven for Mushroom. Don't think there could be a more fitting name. Most of the island seems to be quite mountainous, there's fjords of green ooze flowing into the sea, GOD knows what that stuff might be, but it's interesting. I'm heading back to Sutica now, supplies are low and I'm tired. I want to go back home, once there, maybe I'll see about publishing what I've found- if I get home safely.”

Thus the findings of a curious Haensitan were shared for others to take interest in. He'd personally had enough of the southern waters for now. Reza seemed interesting enough for the tired Amador.

The High Prince would give a small chuckle as he read.  “We have settled here first! We called dibs!” he’d declare, making his way back down to his under construction city on the isle named Amadoria.
