Devya was born within the Rasdom of Mèllè, within the Khonma Tribe. Her great-great-grandparents had been killed by the late Chief Dingiswana, branding the living remains of the Grewal family as traitors. Life there was brutal until Shaka’Khonma rose to power. Her father was able to join the army, and he fought alongside many other men. The family began to prosper under the new ruler, but it didn’t satisfy the ambitious Devya. When she turned eighteen, she left with a group of wanderers. Later, she landed in the prosperous Carolustadt. Without money, however, she had to resort to thievery, making her the manipulative little beast she is today.
