Aoife was born in the outskirts of the Republic of Ves, belonging to a poor family in a small, agricultural community. Her family consisted of her mother, father, little brother Alroy, and herself. At age twelve, she worked for a wealthy produce salesman, delivering fresh goods door to door and collecting a third of the payment to support her family. She was able to live a good life for a short time, as her family was able to afford decent food and medicine. That soon changed.
Her father disappeared at sea when she was fourteen, and her mother died from pneumonia a year later. Aoife picked up two more jobs to support her brother, as his own job working at a lumber mill only gave him food, water, and a little bit of medicine as payment. They saved up their extra money to buy a horse, wagon, essentials to travel across the country over two years time. A month after they started their journey, the two stopped at a small village along the coast. Aoife searched for another job, just to grab some extra cash. A local mage talked her into becoming his apprentice, just for a short time.
For a while, the three performed shows, sold potions and trinkets, and lived a good life. Aoife learned magic based combat skills from her mentor and was able to afford lessons from blacksmith, learning to use a bow and battle ax. Her skills are focused on long range weapons and defensive, and she trained with her brother to learn hand-to-hand combat. When she was nineteen, Aoife decided to go out on her own and explore the world. Alroy, at the time sixteen, decided to stay with the mage and become his next apprentice. Aoife was packed back onto the wagon, loaded with food, water and medicine, extra clothes, weapons, and potions. The mage gave her an emerald necklace as a goodbye gift, which she hides under her shirt.
Currently, she travels wherever she can enter, parking her wagon next to an inn and staying the night. Aoife does odd jobs here and there for extra coins; performing magic shows using Arcane Illusion and some Evocation, and delivering goods across the lands. She refuses the reveal the name of the mage, only that he went by Jórdanín.
