You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) You arrive at the witch's bar and take a deep breath before approaching her. "Hello, I'm Maximus Aurelian," I introduce yourself. The witch nods in acknowledgement and asks, "What brings you to my bar?" You answer, "I come from a small village near the edge of the forest. I've always been curious about magic, but I never had the opportunity to learn much about it before. I've heard rumors of its existence, but that's about it. Oh, true I forgot that I should mention that I'm 24 years old and of Adunian descendent." The witch leans back in her chair and replies, "Magic is a powerful force, and not something to be taken lightly. What is it that you seek?" You take a moment to gather your thoughts before responding, "I want to learn more about magic and how it works. I'm not looking to become a powerful sorcerer or anything, but I believe that having a basic understanding of magic could help me in my travels." The witch nods and offers, "I can teach you some things, about magic, its theory. but I can't teach you how to do magic. are you willing to put in the effort?". You nod enthusiastically and reply, "Of course. I'm ready to learn whatever you teach me about magic and Almaris." The witch apologizes for not being able to teach you magic or recommend a magic teacher, but suggests that there is a place in the north called Lurin where she might be able to find one. I thank her for her advice and order a drink at the bar before heading to Lurin. then I leave the tavern to go to Lurin.
