You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Stuttering, you say, "Uhm.. hi?" You walk a few steps forward, and sit down as she said. "Do I know you? I just got into town today" You ask. She hands you a chipped cup full of water, and settles in her rocking chair. Clearing her throat, she says, "Well my dear, tell me your story and I will tell you mine." "Uhh well nothing to lose I suppose, my name is Gardenia. I'm 20 and took about a 10 day journey to get here. I'm looking for a life of my own, something to call mine."
