Last week, my younger brother came home, and saw a video game I was playing and called it "edgy" seemingly to think it means cool. I think people whether they know the meaning or not like to use it because it is catchy. One of those things that will blow over in time. Don't let them dictate what your character should be. I personally don't care what they think.
